Only 8.3% of main characters are non-white females. Incorporating in-game advertising, we delved into the games themselves with a widely accessible campaign, helping raise awareness of this issue and making a change in the gaming industry, while also encouraging black girl gamers to join Black Girl Gamers, a multi-platform, LGBTQIA+, and inclusive online gaming community of over 8,000 black women with a shared passion for gaming.
The branding takes influence from circuit boards, which connect all electronic components of a device, to represent connection within the community. Using supporting social media and sticker assets, this campaign is designed to promote the brand as the future of gaming while also engaging the BGG community in a variety of topics.
Purple is a colour often associated with international women's day and feminism, symbolising achievements gained and achievements yet to come. While the contrasting green represents the future, technology, liveliness and creativity, showing how Black Girl Gamers take interest in a multitude of topics.
